How It Works

Setup a PC with a webcam aimed at the diver or vaulter. Put a marker with the AprilTag in the field of view. AprilTags are recognized by the computer program for how to crop the video

Next run the computer program, select the camera source and go to the webpage that is running on the laptop. This is not the internet. It’s just the IP address of the laptop that is recording the video.

The webpage is going to be ipaddress/coach

On this website, you have to add and/or select the athlete that just jumped and press ‘store’ This will take the last 6-10 seconds of video and store it under that athletes name on the computer.

Once the raw video is stored on the laptop, it is viewable by the athletes immediately also by going to a webpage being served off that same laptop. The laptop needs to be on the same wifi network as the phones, and website will just be the IP Address of the computer.

Later on at night, when we get home, we run a separate program that analyzes the video in more detail and pushes all the content into wordpress for viewing by atheletes–on the web.

Rights to see the video is determined by how the videos are tagged in wordpress for the team including atheletes, coaches, and parents.
